The 2021 US Open main draw runs from August 30 - September 12 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 141st time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Dominic Thiem is the men’s singles defending champion but has withdrawn following an injury. Naomi Osaka is the women’s singles defending champion and will be aiming to claim the title for the third time in four years. Meanwhile, No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic looks to complete the calendar Grand Slam after winning the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon already this year. Should the Serbian lift the title here for the fifth time, he will also overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to become the first-ever man to win 21 Grand Slam singles titles. With full capacity crowds back again, it’s time for the greatest return!

  • The aggressive style is absolutely incredible. Sakkari whinged that Emma beat her, Bencic and Rogers because they weren't at their best, but Emma's style forces players onto the back foot. It's pretty ruthless. If she keeps mentally tough and keeps working as hard as she clearly has been, the titles will stack up.

  • I just watch the full match on prime and so many errors from both contenders so many points giving to your opponent from both players. Everyone says it was fantastic. I actually think it was so frustrating, seeing both players making so but so many errors. It didn't fill like a final but a friendly game. I think the Canadian is more technical and playing 5 extra hours b4 the final it can take a toll on you. Well you can say the Canadian had luck on her side to reach the final but the British didn't need luck she won 20 games without losing a set.

  • Why didn't Fernandez use her variety? Where were the dropshots?

    Xi DIAMONDXi DIAMOND5 dagen geleden
    • @Darren Lamb not understanding your reply. The dropshot helped her alot to get to the final along with her variety. So why in the biggest match of her life she didn't mix things up. She just tried to hit with Raducanu from the baseline the entire match instead of taking her out her comfort zone. The 2 times she hit the dropshot well she won the point. Even when she was down bad in the second set she still didn't go to a plan B or C when she is capable of it

However it's 2021 so the following are more important a) young, b) female, c) immigrant background, d) diversity, e) not white, f) people annoyed that she's British when she's not born in Britain (which she doesn't need to be, nor do her parents)
