Just seems odd to me - especially the guys that detail operations where they killed some big named XYZ for the whole world to see. Some people definitely need to leave the planet, but it is a taking of a life. I always thought those stories would remain out in the field or be detailed in a debriefing or hearing. Am I crazy.

  • I have a very large (110+ pounds) Anatolian Shepherd. I came home one day about 10AM to a car exiting my driveway. I snapped a pic of the guy and plate and proceeded up my driveway. When I went around the house I discovered he had broken through the storm door. Never got in the house. When I checked my cameras I watched him breaking the door, meanwhile my AS went to the laundry room and stood there silently with her tail curled tightly. It was clear when he started on the entrance door he noticed the dog, short pause and left. Wise decision on his part as she is under socialized and potentially dangerous. I reported the incident and turns he was out on parole for home invasion. Back he went to prison. Dogs get my vote and if the invaders manage to deal with the dog then there’s always me and my weaponry. Obviously the best defense is preventing it altogether.

I would walk around my bad neighborhood, with my boa around my shoulders and his head sticking out flicking his tongue, and my large German Shepherd on the left. I made sure all my neighbors saw them daily. No issue with break ins, or any further drama. Best deterrents. For some reason, bad guys are deathly afraid of snakes and big dogs. It must be in their DNA.

  • Quick tip: If you get into a scuffle with a intruder, bite them as hard as you can on any visible area people might notice if they were to go outside so the police can link them to you using dental records. You also scratch them on the face. If you have a knife stab their legs so they are impaired for a short while. You can also use a speaker if you are playing music, press it against their ears and turn it all the way up. Use chairs or stools to hit them. You can put lead on top of the hinges of any doors in your house so when the door opens the lead will break and you'll be able to tell if someone has been there(it's a better hack for those who live alone). You can shine a flashlight in their eyes as well. Just a few tips, be careful and don't be afraid.

  • Tip about screws is useless against robberies, because burglars won't try to break the door cause it's too loud and because it's easier to unlock the lock. So that you know, almost any lock is very easy to open. There are some which take time, but usually they are very expensive and you need to really consult with professionals if it's easily opened or not. Although, tightening your screws may help against creep invasions, because they are usually not very skilled at unlocking door locks.

  • Quick summary 1 - Make it look like someone is home 2 - Make your life seem unpredicatable (fake dog signs, children toys, etc) 3 & 4 - Pretend to or actually have a security system 5 - Strategically place the cameras (be mindful of sun directly shining) 6 - Establish trustful relationships with neighbors (they can give heads-ups) 7 & 8 - LOCK the garage door and secure the locking cable (they can typically unlock with a hanger) 9 - Get a solid door 10 & 11 - Replace door screws with long screws (prevents getting kicked down) 12 - Install a protective window film 13 - Defensive plan (rally point locations, routes, and communication) 14 - Have flashlight, weapon (sprays count), car alarm, and charged cell on your nightstand 15 - Fight for your life, have no mercy 16 - Keep distance from the attacker

  • Good advice except for telling the neighbors you will be away. Your neighbors will tell someone else, who will tell someone else and that someone else will rob you. You would be surprised how many people seem like ordinary citizens and are also criminals. If you must discuss your trip, make sure it is after you return.

  • I can’t swing a bat in my bedroom without hitting walls and ceilings, so I would consider a shorter item like a mag light or a sturdy tool. I don’t like things that are easy to grab like a hammer, since you could have it pulled out of your hand, but If you have a pry bar with a handle, about 18” and a few pounds, I think it would crack bones if you keep hitting like a crazed monkey. Remember buffet rules: everybody gets a serving before the hungry ones get seconds. Personally, I like my very familiar AR platform with a mounted light, but guns aren’t always legal or practical. I certainly don’t recommend people have a loaded gun they haven’t recently practiced with. If you don’t have time, get sprays and blunt objects. If your gun is painful to shoot, or too heavy or loud to practice with, get some advice on a gun you will shoot. People don’t rise above their training level in emergencies, they fall to their training level. I’d rather have a .22 I can confidently handle and shoot, than a machine gun I haven’t used in a year.

  • I'm able to keep my schedule unpredictable. I never leave my doors unlocked or windows open. Never open the door if I don't know who it is or can't see the person through a window. If I don't know them, they will be talked to through the front door. Not opening it. If I'm outside, I pay attention to what is around me and am fortunate to live where there is some distance so no one can walk up on me quickly. Don't be nice ladies, parking lots are not safe, pay attention and if someone comes close as you are unloading your cart, put your cart between you and whoever. Tell them to get away from you loudly if they try to get around the cart. Always report an incident in a parking lot to the store once you get safely home. Never leave your car door unlocked.

Lucky my son spotted him n a car in the entrance, so the beggar got a slap n the gun guy was like that's not what was suppose to happen. As I came to the front room I saw my son trying to hold the door closed n the other one pushing it so I ran to help my son to try to close the door I remembered my mum saying u must scream names of ppl bc they font know how many are in the household. It was just the 2 of us. I screamed go fetch the gun n kill him He thought there were more ppl in the house n fortunately for us they both ran away.

  • I keep a Cold Steel Spear by the front door. Also I don't want to wake my neighbors, give away my position or get the law involved and cost taxpayers money. Lay a deceased body naked in the woods after making multiple cuts in it for the bugs to get in and any critters, and within a day, there will be nothing but a skeleton. Burying it will only preserve evidence. Bleach destroys DNA, and rust remover removes blood stains because blood has iron in it.

  • DO NOT cut the cord that is hanging down from your garage door opener. If the electricity goes out that cord is to pull the lever down so you can lift the garage door open manually. If you want to remove the cord a sturdy broom handle or long dowel with a hook on the end can be used to pull the lever down instead of the cord. Make the cord shorter by folding it on itself and wrap it with box tape so it doesn't hang low. Or fold the cord and secure it to the lever with a zip tie. If your garage door has windows cover them from the inside with plywood or paint so the thief can't see to hook the cord.
